What McCain’s Camp Are Saying About Palin Now?

During last year’s election, what can you hear from McCain’s camp about their vice-presidential candidate? All praises! Despite the Alaska governor’s misstep with the press and the campaign, never once did we hear Senator McCain said that his running mate is not up to par. What is his camp saying now about Governor Palin? A close friend and campaign confidant of McCain was heard saying Palin is nothing but a “little shop of horrors!”

The election was already won and the new president (not McCain) is running the Whitehouse now. Why is this issue important to you? … because this issue says something about the state of political campaign in the U.S. and, to some extent, the color of the Republican Party.

It’s now apparent that Senator McCain turned a blind eye and deaf ear about his chosen running mate. In fact, it’s also rumored that the senator chose Sara Palin haphazardly – shaking her hand as running mate after roughly one hour of meeting her in Alaska. Why did he choose Sara Palin to begin with? Was it because she’s a lady and Sara would appeal to the female demographic? Is running for the Whitehouse now boils down to the obsession of winning without taking into account the role of the highest office of the land?

It’s unavoidable to think now that the senator’s reason for choosing Palin is to have a pull to a wider range of voters and not qualifications. Even when they were campaigning, a rift between the senator and the vice president’s camp is already creeping up. What if (thank God it didn’t) they did bag the Whitehouse seat? Can the senator picture himself up babysitting little Sara? It’s not a farfetched scenario had they won the race.

Senator McCain couldn’t claim that he doesn’t know about Sara Palin’s missteps and ineptitude even during the campaign period. His staff had surely let him knew about their problems with the Governor, but he’s tight lip about it until today. Long before they lost in the election, the McCain’s camp knew that Sara Palin was not ready to become a vice president – they’re not even sure if she will ever be. If it weren’t with the comment made by one of his close ally during the campaign, the rift between his and the Governor’s camp would have not been substantiated.

How irresponsible of one presidential candidate who’s willing to risk his country’s future by choosing an unqualified candidate just to increase his chances of winning. This kind of campaign strategy can weaken the number one symbol of democracy: a fair and honest election. Are the Republicans desperate enough to retain power during last year’s election or it was just Senator McCain, who knows? But people can smell survival maneuvering a mile away and this comes out during voting; thus, the very wide gap between President Obama’s and Senator McCain’s vote.

Let this be a stark lesson for the future presidential aspirants who don’t care about people’s future but his own.
